Social Nest Foundation partners again with 4YFN to put Impact at the core of the world’s leading startup event

Valencia (Spain), February 21st, 2022 - For the second consecutive year, Social Nest Foundation partners with Four Years From Now (4YFN), the startup event of the world's largest exhibition for the mobile industry, the Mobile World Congress, to develop the event’s Impact Programme, in collaboration with Red Cross, UNDP and GSMA Mobile for Development.

This year’s Impact Programme will present a dedicated area, the Impact Forest, and a full agenda focused on climate change, diversity and inclusion, humanitarian technology, and impact investing. Supported by these major impact facilitators, it will focus on finding a clear path to getting closer to the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

For Margarita Albors, president of Social Nest, a foundation that has promoted entrepreneurship and impact investing since 2010, “Technology, entrepreneurship and capital are vital to addressing the global societal challenges we face. For four days, talents from all over the world come together at 4YFN. It’s a great space to show today's innovators those social and environmental challenges and solutions that are being worked on, and the opportunity offered by the sector, since we can only build a better present and future if we bring talent and resources to the table and the right environment for collaboration. From Social Nest, since we work to increase positive impact to startups, corporates and investors, it made perfect sense to join forces again with 4YFN”.

To answer the key questions of how can we mobilize more capital towards social investment, how can we differentiate ‘impact washing’ from genuinely meaningful projects, and how, ultimately, can we all become impact investors, Social Nest has put together two panel discussions on February 28th, as part of the 4YFN conference, featuring top-level, experienced impact investors such as Inês Sequeira, Founder and Director of Casa do Impacto; Thomas Roehrl, Engagement Lead RESPOND at BMW Foundation; Margarita Albors, Founder and President of Social Nest Foundation; Briera Dale, Head of Global Partnerships at ChangeNOW; Zoe Peden, Principal UK and Northern Europe at Ananda Impact Ventures; Josep Segarra, Impact Investment Manager at Quadia; Carlos Fisch, Investment Director at Seaya Ventures; and Xavier Pont, Co-Founder and Managing Partner of Ship2B Ventures.

The Impact Forest Agenda, co-organized by Social Nest, will also feature a broad range of activities and networking opportunities for startups and investors around the central theme of impact, including a session on venture debt and other forms of alternative financing by Zubi Capital, a discussion on technology and impact by the B Corp Too Good To Go and Worldcoo, a fireside chat between Inês Sequeira and Margarita Albors on their vision for one big Iberian impact ecosystem, or impact startups pitches, among other contents.
