Horizonte Rural

Horizonte Rural is an open innovation program driven by COVAP and Central Lechera Asturiana, in collaboration with Social Nest Foundation, to transform the future of dairy cattle farming through technological, sustainable, and scalable solutions that generate a real impact on the sector.

Innovation that transforms dairy farming.

In this multi-stakeholder open innovation program, we bring together technology, sustainability, and collaboration to drive solutions that have a tangible impact on the future of dairy farming. We are the bridge between cooperatives, startups, entrepreneurs, experts, and institutions, creating an ecosystem where ideas translate into real impact.

Are you a visionary looking to transform the livestock industry? This is the ideal space to develop your vision. Join the movement and let's lead the future of sustainable livestock farming together.

What are our goals?

  • Technical Solutions: To support the development of innovative technologies that optimize productivity and performance in livestock farming. This includes digitization tools, sensors, automation, and data analysis to maximize operational efficiency.

  • Sustainability in the production model: To promote sustainable production models that reduce the water and carbon footprint, encourage biodiversity, adopt circular economy practices, and achieve efficient waste management. The goal is to transform the sector with a more socially responsible and resilient approach.

  • Continuity of the livestock industry: To ensure the continued development of the sector through initiatives that encourage generational transitions, new management models, training for farmers, and the attraction of young people to rural areas. This will help revitalize rural communities and ensure the sector's social sustainability.

  • Can your project transform the sector?

We are looking for startups, SMEs, institutions, or innovative participants that can improve the productivity, social and environmental sustainability, and resilience of the cattle farming and dairy sector.
